SUGAR FREE GUNS

Sat. Nov. 18 - 9:00 pm - 21+ - BUY TICKETS HERE!
SUGAR FREE GUNS - listen
Sugar Free Guns is a synth / guitar driven rock quintet from Chicago. In each song they write, they hold themselves to one standard: if it’s not hooky, it dies. Since 2015 they’ve released 3 EPs, each full of soaring melodies that will stick with you for days and played on coveted stages, such as the Metro and the House of Blues. They are in the process of writing their next EP, slated for release in mid 2018.
KING CARDINAL - listen
Any flannel clad Bon Iver disciple can pick up an acoustic guitar and throw together a few bleeding-heart tunes dealing with well-worn folk tropes like love, loss and atonement. But only a select few can dig deep enough to transform cliché into palpable, gut-wrenching feeling. Enter Brennan Mackey, brainchild behind Denver-based group King Cardinal.
DANGER PONY - listen
Danger Pony is an eight piece band from Chicago. We play Doo-wop SoulFolk. The band is comprised of three female back up singers, a trumpet, drums, bass and two guitars.

WOODROW HART & THE HAYMAKER

Sun. Nov. 19 - 7:00 pm - 21+ - BUY TICKETS HERE!
Sunday Night Roots Revival!
WOODROW HART & THE HAYMAKER
Woodrow Hart & the Haymaker like to kick around all the strange little corners of American music that have crept up throughout the last century. They like to soak up old rusty sounds & wring them out in new places. They play country songs & city songs; banjo stomps & accordion shakes; love croons & murder ballads... it usually depends on the weather.
THE DEVILISH WINKS
Harmony-rich folk/rock with a splash of funk from the lovely town of Chicago, dig it.
DAVEY DYNAMITE - listen
Davey Dynamite began playing solo in 2010 with the idea of taking a punk approach to writing folk songs. Since then he has played hundreds of shows, toured the U.S. and released four full-length albums. This past year, Davey released his fourth album and first completely full-band effort, "Holy Shit," with the help of Dying Scene Records, Don't Panic Records & Distro and No Time Records. In 2017, Davey came in as the runner up to Eryn Allen Kane for the Chicago Reader's best local singer/songwriter.
HUGO REYES - listen
Hugo Reyes sometimes drinks too much and gets sad about it. Then he writes songs about being sad and depressed.
CLAMOR AND CLAW
The Clamor and Claw Sextet drops you deep in the belly of early New Orleans jazz, then lifts you high in the Vaudeville sky. Frontwoman Lisa Hastings brings down the house with her enchanting vintage vocals, as her backing band of multi-instrumentalists surprise and delight audiences with their raucous melodies. Come cut a rug with that little band with the big swing sound, The Clamor and Claw Sextet!

BLUE CLOUD

Wed. Nov. 22 - 9:00 pm - 21+ - BUY TICKETS HERE!
BLUE CLOUD - listen
HERE/NOW from #NohPlaceFarm via the #CloudshiPUNKnow. See your eyes in another's face, touch space, and sip on that liquid sound of the #BlueCloud. Lysergic cosmic cowboy tunes from the future past. AXONS - listen
Dance music with a bleeding punk rock heart.
BELMONT & CLARK - listen
Sounding somewhere between Kraftwerk and Britney’s Spear’s secret gothic tendencies, Belmont & Clark are influenced by 80's minimal wave and glitchy acid electronic acts like Aphex Twin and Black Moth Super Rainbow. CAUTION: Infectious, antibiotic resistant.
FAUVELY (of Astrobrite and Videotape) - listen
Fauvley is the project of Chicago-based singer-songwriter Sophie Leigh, who melds folk with dream pop and a touch of shoegaze in music that feels deeply personal. The title of her debut EP, Watch Me Overcomplicate This, speaks to the confessional tone of songs that range from delicately self-effacing to hauntingly sad.

Mystery Crash is a three piece electronic house-rock psychedelic fusion band from Chicago, IL. We want to explore the unexplored.
THE ROALDE DAHLS - listen
The Roalde Dahls are an indie rock/electric/art project born out of the Northwest Suburbs of Illinois. Made up of four childhoods friends, the project started with the intention of making sounds they could not describe, then soon molded into the electric/rock sound it is today. The Roalde Dahls are more then just musicians; they are a band of writers, poets, directors and philosophers. The youthful group of creative and exotic role players have combined a unique combination of sounds and styles to create a specific emanation of raw energy that is said to be incredibly contagious. Standing in the audience you would be hard pressed not to match the level of the enthusiasm radiating from the band. The Roalde Dahls aspirations as musicians are to emotionally effect and inspire a vast audience of listeners and artists through their electrifying creative musical performances as well as their spaced out landscapes.
VYTYLS - listen
Avant-Electronic music duo based in Chicago.
MAGICKS - listen
Magicks sound is as accessible as it is indecipherable. Although the Chicago native cites hip hop, rhythm and blues and shoegaze as initial influences, the end product is much more. Magicks is a high minister in the "Church of What's Happening Now", managing to blend a virtual primer of today's most influential sounds into one cohesive package that sounds good to even the most jaded critic. This is dreamy occult pop music, equal parts pleasure and challenge to the modern ear.

Old Grand Dad is an ethylene soaked 4-piece from Chicago, Illinois. Bred for rockabilly, these freaks have started sneakin' out by the light of the moon to taste the rest of the "Devil's music". Its members include Joe Bilckenov (drums), Josh Cohen (vocals/keyboard), Chip Douglas III (vocals/guitar), and Andrew McCusker (vocals/guitar). Its sound is a blend of singer-songwriter and high fashion rock & roll that draws from a variety of influences, from the Beatles, to Prince, to Elliot Smith.
COUNTRY PRIEST - listen
Country Priest is a song writing project a few years in the making. P.D. Young collaborated with longtime friends to record the songs of To See and Be Seen. Guitars through rotary speakers, double tracked drums, alongside acoustic and electric pianos give the album a certain kind of vintage texture. As the title implies, the album questions what it is to see someone and to be seen by another in life. These songs came together from some unlikely inspiration, P.D. Young's background in art history and working at an art museum. The band name itself is taken from a film by new wave director Robert Bresson (Diary of a Country Priest). These reflections are paired with influences including Gillian Welch and Neil Young and of course [the final years of] the Beatles.
ONE MORE MOON - listen
One More Moon is a four-piece from Chicago that got it’s start in early 2015 when singer/songwriter Eric Quigley decided to take his solo work to the next level. Guitarist Roger Smit, bassist Chris Rawlins, and drummer Aaron Schapiro fill out One More Moon’s line up. Their mix of folk, blues, and rock – along with the many differing influences each member brings to the table – transform Quigley’s foundations into songs wholly unique to the band. Since their debut, One More Moon has played various venues in and around Chicago, including the Cubby Bear and the Metro. They released their debut EP on New Year's Day 2017. It's available on iTunes, Spotify and other major streaming services.

Scientist draw heavily from the Windy City’s long-running tradition of experimental metal. The band members themselves describe their sound as “post-sludge.” Were listeners to ponder this description alongside the band’s sound, they would imagine twisted beams, exposed glass diagonals, and post-apocalyptic concrete blocks with a decaying skyline and crimson horizon in the distance.
CORRIDORE - listen
Madison-based Corridoré infuses psychedelic and progressive elements into their own form of atmospheric post-black/doom metal. "Blastbeat-throttled passages flow into blustery post-rock melody...equal parts bleak atmosphere and bracing rawness." -Tone Madison
ARRIVER - listen
ARRIVER was founded in Chicago in 2006 to create a metal epic from a found paragraph of nonsense. Their evolution has produced a body of work of great sonic diversity, linked by the narrative thread and the mightiness of the Riff. ARRIVER's latest release, the full-length Emeritus, is an ecstatic/folkloric resetting of the Chernobyl event set forth in five long tracks of expansive heaviness.

THE CELL PHONES - listen
We are a three-piece that formed in Chicago in 2008 and have since been playing various venues in the city proper. Our live performance is honest and straightforward; where excess vocals and effects lack we make up for in technicality and intensity. Most of our influences draw from 60's and 80's rock, but our sound lies on a foundation of Metal, Punk and New Wave; all of which Ryan and Justin have been experimenting with since middle-school. Lindsey on the other hand provides a dramatic pop element that brings accessibility to the overall sound, striking an essential contrast that most noise and grind bands tend to neglect.

NO SINATRAS - listen
No Sinatras was born in Chicago as a collaboration between brothers who wanted to play a type of rock music they weren’t hearing elsewhere. The band has grown but the philosophy established by the brothers continues – if you’re not hearing it some place else, play it. This mindset has lead No Sinatras to take the indie rock aesthetic into some unfamiliar places. By channeling influences of post-punk, grunge, psychedelic and classic rock they have developed an original sound of their own. Spirited rhythms, stacked guitars and vintage organ form a foundation for Nick Cave-style vocals and diverse lyrics. This unique sound is engaging both on record and during their energetic live shows.
THE INVENTORS - listen
The Inventors are a three piece rock band that calls Chicago home. We draw influences from every genre and apply that to everything we do from writing, recording, and performing. Come see us live!

THE BABY MAGIC

Fri. Dec. 15 - 9:00 pm - 21+ - BUY TICKETS HERE!
THE BABY MAGIC - listen
Some artists grab your attention immediately, but fail to hold it very long. Others dig into your subconscious, until you can't get that tune out of your head. When a rare band hits you right off the first note and stays in your head long after the record stopped spinning or the house lights come on, you know you've found some magic. And if you're one of those artists that can conjure up that magic, you may as well put it in your name. There you have Chicago's The Baby Magic. A trio of hyperactive yet hyper-articulate musicians bangin' out the sexiest new-wave/no-wave jams you've ever heard, The Baby Magic enthralls the listener on their newest record "Rent a Place in Hell" as well as previous effort "Whoopsy Daisy." Their songs conjure up the best moments of Beat Happening, Talking Heads, and newer groups like Death From Above 1979 without sounding redundant of anything that's come before. Rather, they're a harbinger for a new, enlightened, and - goddamnit - fun time. But if you want the full 'Magic experience, find them in the sweatiest, sleaziest, skankiest bar you know and get set to release your inhibitions and find that part of you that your assistant principal warned you would end up on your permanent record.
