With several regional tours under their belt, the band prepares to release their sophomore effort with a national tour accompanying.

Loa Hex brings big riff rock n’ roll from Chicago’s northwest side. Hitting hard with Midwestern hooks, metal-tinged panache and heartfelt songwriting, Loa Hex conjures powerful music that connects with an audience. With a live show that blends an intimate communion with the mystic energy of a backwoods revival, Loa Hex walks the fine line between great band and theatrical experience.

THE WAYWARD - listen
After Carrion (Nate, Nick, Dustin) ceased February '04, The Wayward formed June '04 to go in a different direction as a 4 piece (initially w/ Dustin on bass). With Jesse originally playing guitar along with Nick, we wrote songs over the summer and recorded/released a self-titled EP to take on our a Fall U.S. tour. Shortly after returning from tour, Dustin decided to move on; which left us mulling over how to fill the void for several months. It was after several rehearsals with Jesse playing a baritone guitar (ultimately going with a Bass VI guitar) and playing a deciding show March '05 (before an already booked Spring tour) that we found our direction. Over 2005, The Wayward recorded/self-released 2 EPs and 1 7" (released jointly by McCarthyism (r.i.p.) & Black Box Records (r.i.p.); as well as recorded our 1st full-length that would be released by BBR June '06 (CD only). With standalone shows and touring mixed in all the while, '05-'08 were very busy writing, self-recording and releasing our 2nd full-length, Overexposure (recorded '06/'07, released '08 by Magic Bullet Records initially on 500 copies vinyl then repressed on CD), and a (very - 50 copies) limited self-released mini-CD EP, Perpendicular, in '07. Touring and writing continued through '09-'10 where we teamed up with our long time friend Tim at Forcefield Records to release our 2nd 7" in late '10. We had already begun to write for what would become our 3rd album, In Alphabetical Order, and while our touring slowed down, we continued to play locally/regionally. We spent from Summer '11 self-recording IAO and ultimately writing more and rerecording the entire album over the next 2 years to its digital only self-release March '13. From Spring '13 through the present (March '17) we have continued to play locally and mixed in a couple regional humps through the Mid-Atlantic, while writing material for our 4th full-length, Plutonic (released September '16 on Nerve Altar, 500 copies vinyl). Plutonic was self-recorded during Summer '15 into '16 over several sessions while we finalized details with Nerve Alter. Along came August ‘17 and Jesse needed a change and departed; which brought The Wayward to a crossroads. We made a hard left taking a new direction with the sound as a 2-piece, using recorded synth lines for the bass (played through our own PA). The guitar setup is truly unique and we continue to tweak our sound during this new phase. We revisit songs written as a 3-piece, and move forward with new material in this new formulation... we carry on. Over the last ~14+ years we have played with near countless bands all over the U.S., making the ride a damn good one. As for other current projects -Nick started noiserock juggernaut Multicult back in '09, and has been active with that ever since. Nate joined prog/experimental/doom Seasick Gladiator in Spring '16 to destroy a few more more cymbals.
HEX MACHINE - listen
